I build Doug Ritter Aviator Survival Paks like my life depended upon it...
...because your life might.

"If there's a mother of all aviation survival kits, the Doug Ritter Ultimate Aviator Survival Pak certainly qualifies. Of the comprehensive kits, the Doug Ritter Ultimate Aviator Survival Pak is hands down the most inclusive."

I fly an airplane (Cirrus SR22) that affords me an excellent chance of reaching the ground safely after any number of possible calamities. I never take off without my Doug Ritter Aviator Survival Pak. I do everything I can to enhance my chances of survival and rescue after a parachute deployment since rescue may not be quick. Neither the CAPS parachute nor survival gear guarantees a successful outcome, but together they stack the odds greatly in my favor.

I fly over all sorts of inhospitable terrain in a variety of aircraft, from singles to a turboprop twin. My bright red Doug Ritter Aviator Survival Pak is always with me, just in case. My wife and passengers are too important to trust to luck or a less well-equipped lower quality survival kit. This is no place for half measures or to cheap out. If, God forbid, I ever need it, I know I can trust my life to Doug's kit.

Let me encourage you all to consider Doug's efforts. As he reminded us in his M4 seminar, "the more you know, the more you want." Through Doug's seminars at the various Cirrus migrations, I came to appreciate the skills and experiences that I had developed through my Boy Scout leadership days, oh, so long ago. Yet, I realized that in my plane I would be flying over places where I wanted things to make emergencies easier to tolerate. Especially at my advanced age, ahem, wisdom! Plus, it was going to be surviving with Molly, which really made it worth it!

Purchases in order were a Cirrus with CAPS parachute, McMurdo PLB with GPS, Winslow life raft, and now a Doug Ritter Ultimate Aviator Survival Pak. Don't leave the ground without it!
